What weight is the linen?

Mid-weight, 165 to 180 gsm. Heavy enough to hang and hold a crease rather than cling. If you ask for a lining the piece is cut in the lighter linen instead, 125 to 134 gsm, with a soft cotton voile lining attached.

Is the linen see-through?

The mid and deeper linens are not. White and the palest shades can be in strong light, which is why Ellementree does not recommend white unlined. A soft cotton voile lining is free on any piece: ask for it in the Measurements and changes box and the garment is cut in the lighter linen with the voile attached.

No. The cloth is washed before it is cut, so the shrinking is already done. Wash cool and line dry and it keeps its size. The one thing that will shrink it is a tumble dryer on high heat for more than half an hour.

How tall is the model in the photographs?

Five foot ten in the newest photographs and five foot six to five foot seven in the earlier ones. She wears a size S in all of them, so a hem that sits at mid-calf on her will sit lower on a shorter wearer.

Can I have it in a different colour?

Yes. Any style can be cut in any of our 39 linens at the same price. Pick the linen on the product page, or choose the custom colour option and name the one you want.

How long until it arrives?

We make it in 3 to 5 working days after you order. Standard shipping is free and takes 7 to 14 days; express takes 2 to 3 working days. You get a tracking number the day the parcel leaves Jaipur. Duties are paid for you on orders to the US, Canada and Australia.

Yes, nothing is final sale. Within 30 days of delivery a standard size can be exchanged or refunded, unworn and unwashed. A piece made to your measurements or altered at your request can be exchanged or remade. Write to us first so we can send the return address. Return postage is yours unless the piece arrived faulty.

How to measure

Take these on your body.

Bust. Around the fullest part, tape level under the arms and across the shoulder blades.
Waist. Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel. Breathe out.
Hips. Around the fullest part, about 20cm below the waist, feet together.
Height. Barefoot, against a wall. This is what sets the length.
